The hotel has been owned by the Dornsiepen family for 115 years,
and is now run by Klaus Dornsiepen. Supported by the rest of the family, the zur Post hotel has developed into one of the ‘pearls of Sauerland’. The trained chef (training in Tegernsee, Münster and Cologne) personally makes sure that his guests are well catered for and each week and puts new regional and seasonal delicacies on the daily menu every week.
As a restaurateur ‘with body and soul’ he offers a wide selection for guests with different interests.
After upgrading the conference centre, a drying room has now been set up for the clothes of 50 hikers and motorcyclists.
For enthusiastic hikers and motorcyclists, the number of things to do has increased with a number of specially devised tours and training facilities around the ‘zur Post’ hotel. On foot, hikers can get out and discover the magnificent Balver Wald and on a motorbike, Sauerland can be ‘discovered’ from a whole different perspective in the real sense of the word. Take a look on our motorcycle page.
Klaus Dornsiepen is on hand to advise hikers and motorcyclists with specially devised tours.
